Encyclopaedia of Islam, Second Edition, Glossary and Index of Terms – Brill
Edited by: P.J. Bearman, Th. Bianquis, C.E. Bosworth, E. van Donzel and W.P. Heinrichs
Assisted by C. Ott, under the patronage of the International Union of Acadamies

Glossary and Index of Terms treats the technical terms in Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Urdu and other languages or dialects of the Islamic world. As an index, it is of immeasurable importance, in particular for the many terms which are not given an entry but are discussed in the course of an article; and as glossary it is an invaluable source of information for both non-specialist, who is given an insight into the varied and rich vocabulary of Islam, and the specialist, who may discover surprising new contexts in which a term is used.

Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament (HALOT) Online – Brill
The third edition of Ludwig Koehler and Walter Baumgartner’s Hebrew dictionary ‘The Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament’ is widely acclaimed as the most up-to-date dictionary for the Old Testament and related literature in classical Hebrew and Aramaic and is now available online. The study edition has proven to be a valuable resource for scholars and students. Combining scholarly thoroughness with easy accessibility, the dictionary meets the needs of a wide range of users. The enormous advances that have taken place in the field of Semitic linguistics since the days of the older dictionaries of Classical Hebrew are well documented and assessed, as well as the often detailed discussions in modern Bible commentaries of words where the meaning is particularly difficult. Full text search and possibility to find conjugated verb forms in the context of their roots is particularly helpful to the new student. Specialist users will find here a wealth of bibliographical information on Old Testament exegesis.

The dictionary contains the complete vocabulary of the Hebrew Bible, extended with variants from the Oriental and Samaritan textual traditions, the Ben Sira fragments, and the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Features
  • Full text search in Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, English, transliterations and Scripture references
  • Conjugated verb forms immediately found in the context of their consonantal roots
  • Easily compare Hebrew and Aramaic lexemes
  • Cross references hypertexted
  • Powerful search features
Historical Atlas of Islam – Brill
The idea of An Historical Atlas of Islam was first suggested in 1958 by the late Donald Edgar Pitcher. He had completed a thesis at the School of Oriental and African Studies in the University of London on the Historical Geography of the Ottoman Empire — a work which was published posthumously in 1968 — and this larger enterprise followed naturally. In 1959 it was agreed that the new Atlas should be prepared under the aegis of the Encyclopaedia of Islam. Most regrettably Pitcher, a teacher by profession and a talented musical composer as well as a meticulous cartographer, died unexpectedly in the summer of 1963. The present editor was asked to take over his Atlas later that same year.
In 1999 I was approached by Brill and asked to undertake a second edition of An Historical Atlas of Islam. I was delighted to undertake the project because, although I admired many features of the First Edition, I, like many reviewers felt that there were aspects which needed to be revised and updated. When approaching the Atlas, the maps seemed to fall into three categories.

Konzise und aktualisierte Ausgabe des Hebräischen und Aramäischen Lexikons (KAHAL) Online – Brill
The third edition of Hebräisches und Aramäisches Lexikon zum Alten Testament (HALAT) by Koehler & Baumgartner appeared in a series of fascicles between 1967 and 1995. It deals with the lexemes of the whole Hebrew Bible, and includes citations from extra-biblical sources and the ancient versions as well as much discussion of the secondary literature then available.

The Konzise und aktualisierte Ausgabe des Hebräischen und Aramäischen Lexikons (KAHAL) is based on HALAT but it focuses on the lexicographic treatment of the biblical lexemes. Singerman Bibliography of Antisemitic Texts in English - Via Deutsche Geschichte Portal / German History Portal - De Gruyter – Via Deutsche Geschichte Portal / German History Portal
The academic study of modern antisemitism and Judeophobia requires a thorough analysis of primary sources across multiple languages, genres, and formats. This bibliographic database identifies a significant variety of books, pamphlets, ephemera, and selected articles, either written in English or translated into English, from the beginning of the 19th century extending to 2022 imprints. The sources come from different countries around the world and the texts reflect a wide diversity of religious, extremist, and nationalist ideologies. A large percentage of the more than 9,200 texts are blatant hate propaganda and theologically driven, while others are considerably more subtle in tone. A major feature of this bibliography are the descriptive annotations, often with quotes from cited sources, and the identification of owning libraries and repositories where copies are located. The bibliography can be searched by author, title, and publication year.
Sources Chrétiennes Online – Brepols
From its inception in 1942, the “Sources Chrétiennes” series (based in Lyon and published by Éditions du Cerf in Paris) has provided critical editions of texts from the first 1400 years of the Church, accompanied by a French translation as well as an introduction and notes. More precisely, the series consists of editions-with-translations of Christian texts in Greek and Latin, but also in oriental languages, such as Syriac, Aramaic and Georgian. Whereas it has always been the series’ mission to make the texts at hand easily accessible for consultation and (linguistic, historical, philosophical and theological) study, Sources Chrétiennes Online even expands the possibilities in this regard. Reserving the introduction, apparatus and notes for the printed series, the online database makes it possible to select texts along various criteria and to perform targeted searches both on the source texts and on the French translations that over the years have been published in the series.

Archiprod

EN / Scholarly output is considerable, and still on the increase, something that poses a challenge to researchers in general, and to those with an interest in the last two centuries of the Middle Ages in particular. The Bibliographie du Moyen Âge Tardif (BAMAT), which is now available both in print and online, aims to provide scholars with a reliable tool that will ensure they keep up-to-date with academic discourse. In spring 2020, the new online database, BAMAT-O, was offi cially launched. This contains the complete bibliography that has been compiled since 1991 and therefore offers certain clear advantages over the printed edition of BAMAT. BAMAT-O makes it possible to search for both authors and their works (1250-1535), for the manuscripts in which these texts are preserved, and for all scholarly studies that relate to the topics covered. BAMAT-O is complementary to the printed volumes and can provide answers to a range of queries, as well as making it possible to crossreference information and to refi ne previous searches. As such, it can often reinforce searches made by users, by providing them with additional and fortuitous finds.

Oxford Bibliographies Online - Atlantic History – Oxford University Press (OUP)

Atlantic history is a fast developing field of historical inquiry that operates upon new assumptions about how to understand the remarkable nature of interactions between different peoples and cultures on four continents and many islands in the period between Columbus’ voyages to the New World in the late fifteenth century and the end of slavery in the Americas in the late nineteenth century. Its principal theme is the movement of peoples, ideas and things in the Atlantic World – a world encompassing the continents of Africa, Europe, North America and South America and many islands, from the Canary Islands near Africa to the Caribbean islands and to Bermuda in the North Atlantic. The multiple movements were fundamentally important in shaping the modern world and in making cultural diversity a key component of modern identity.

Singerman Bibliography of Antisemitic Texts in English - Via Deutsche Geschichte Portal / German History Portal - De Gruyter – Via Deutsche Geschichte Portal / German History Portal
