Margot Monnier is a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Department of Management of the University of Fribourg. She previously completed her Master in Management at the University of Lausanne (HEC), specializing in strategy and sustainability. Afterwards, she worked for 18 months as a junior sustainability consultant in Geneva. In her mandates, she worked mostly on sustainability trainings and workshops, sustainability reporting, as well as the implementation of sustainability strategies for swiss SMEs.
Margot's research focuses on emerging sustainability strategies that, beyond more traditional CSR strategies, design a representation of nature and future generations within corporate governance structures. Her work explores the organizational mechanisms by which companies integrate non-human actors (forests, biodiversity, oceans, etc.) as stakeholders or shareholders. She is also interested in the ways by which these measures impact corporate culture and individual behavior in society.
Her research lies at the intersection of corporate governance and stakeholder theories, the Rights of Nature and political ecology, environmental psychology and organizational culture.
Margot is completing her PhD under the supervision of Professor Sébastien Mena. She is a teaching assistant in the Strategic Management course at the Bachelor level, as well as several elective courses at the Master level, such as Nonmarket Strategy and Business and Sustainable Development.
