Welcome to Dr. Sébastien Bruisson

We are delighted to inform that Dr. Sébastien Bruisson joined our team on 1 January 2026.

Dr. Sébastien Bruisson is a researcher in plant biology investigating plant-microbe interactions. His work explores how microorganisms communicate and how beneficial microbiota can be used to protect crops.

He holds a master’s degree in microbiology, a PhD in plant sciences, and completed a postdoctoral position at the University of Fribourg, where he studied volatile-mediated communication between microorganisms and biocontrol approaches.

Sébastien’s current research focuses on advancing bacteria-based biocontrol strategies for grapevine protection. By selecting beneficial bacteria isolated from the grapevine phyllosphere and strengthening their performance, he aims to develop alternatives to chemical pesticides that contribute to more sustainable agriculture.
