    BENEFRI network between the English departments of UNIFR and UNINE (Neuchâtel)
    The BeNeFri network allows you to attend courses at partner universities and enables you to follow a wider-range of courses and discover student life at another university. It covers travel expenses in order to help you to attend these courses. As of 2025, the English departments of Neuchatel and Fribourg have opened up a large portion of classes to each other. - Classes offered by UniFR for AS2025 are available here, and for SS2026 are available here

 As a Fribourg student, to register for BENEFRI, and take advantage of travel funding to attend classes at the University of Neuchatel, you must register on MyUniFR by 30th September for AS2025, and by 28 February for SS2026. You can find instructions on how to register for BENEFRI here. If you intend to take a course at UNINE you must first get in touch with the head of that domain (i.e philology, linguistics, etc) here at Fribourg. Please note that the head of the domain may impose limits on how many courses you can take outside of UNIFR. Train transfers Fribourg-Neuchâtel - Reimbursement of travel expenses:Travel expenses (2nd class, half-fare) to attend classes between the University of Fribourg and the University of Neuchâtel are reimbursable thanks to the BeNeFri network (upon registration). Please consult the BENEFRI website for more information. In order to reimburse your travel expenses you will need to retain your tickets.
