Office hours

Office hours are Mondays from 3:15 pm-6pm in the fall semester and Thursdays 9-12am in the spring semester. Appointments must be arranged by email.

Dušan Isakov is a full professor of Corporate Finance and Governance at the Department of Management of the University of Fribourg.

The current research interests of D. Isakov focus on payout policy (dividends and repurchases), financial decisions of listed family-owned firms and concentrated corporate ownership. More broadly, his research centers on financial aspects of corporate governance, asset management and international finance. His research has been published in the Review of Financial Studies, the Review of Finance, the Journal of Banking and Finance and the Journal of Corporate Finance among others.

D. Isakov offers courses on different aspects of finance including investments, corporate finance, and corporate governance. His teaching portfolio is part of the Bachelor and Master programs of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Fribourg.

More information on research

D. Isakov obtained his doctorate (PhD) in Economics at the University of Lausanne. He was an assistant professor at the University of Geneva (HEC section) and held different teaching positions at the Universities of Lausanne, Neuchâtel, Rennes and the Swiss Finance Institute. He then joined the University of Fribourg where he is in charge of the Chair of Corporate Finance and Governance. He was also a visiting researcher at CIRANO in Montréal and at HEC Paris. In terms of academic service, D. Isakov was the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences and the Head of the Management Department. He also regularly serves as referee for different academic journals, conferences and research funding agencies.
