Workshop "Confronting Transnational Repression" took place at the University of Zurich
On 2–3 July 2026, the workshop Confronting Transnational Repression: Building Knowledge and Solidarities Across Communities, Civil Society, and Academia took place at the University of Zurich. Jointly organised by Palmo Brunner, University of Zurich, and Rahel Jud, University of Fribourg, the workshop brought together scholars, civil society actors, and representatives of affected communities to discuss the dynamics, impacts, and responses to transnational repression.
Across academic panels, roundtables, and collaborative workshop sessions, participants exchanged perspectives on conceptual and methodological questions, diaspora mobilization, advocacy strategies, ethical challenges, and possibilities for future collaboration.
We warmly thank all speakers, participants, discussants, chairs, and partners for their generous contributions and for the thoughtful and engaged conversations throughout the two days.
