Research Promotion Service

The Research Promotion Service serves researchers at the University of Fribourg, and those wanting to study or work at the University.

Services include (free of charge):

  • Support in finding funding for research projects at the national and European level.
  • Assistance with applications to the Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF and European programmes:
    • Scientific content (pre-screening, particularly summary, contributions to state of the art, timeframe, significance of planned research).
    • Administrative content (budget, salaries, strategic questions).
    • Institutional declaration of the Rectorate.
  • Facilitation of contact to researchers with SNSF experience (SNSF coaches).
  • EU Project Mentor
  • Maintenance of the FUTURA research database.
  • Maintenance of the research webpages of the University of Fribourg.
  • Secretariat for the Research Promotion Commission.

 


Euresearch Fribourg

Euresearch Fribourg is a regional office of the Euresearch network and serves all researchers and companies in the cantons of Fribourg and Valais.

Services include (free of charge):

  • Information and advice about participation in European funding programmes.
  • Assistance with applications to the European programmes (including pre-screening of proposals and EU Project Mentor).
  • Support with contract and intellectual property rights negotiation, administrative and financial reporting.
  • Facilitation of innovation partnerships in Europe.

 


SNSF Local Research Commission

The SNSF Local Research Commission is an intermediary between the University of Fribourg and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). It provides input for the evaluation of funding applications and decides on applications for awards submitted by prospective and advanced researchers. It is also in charge of the evaluation of proposals submitted to the Research Pool.

 


Research Fund/Pool Secretariats

The Research Fund and Research Pool Secretariats serve all researchers at the University of Fribourg wishing to apply for support from the University's Research Fund or Research Pool, respectively.

 


Technology Transfer Office

The Technology Transfer Office serves researchers at the University of Fribourg and is the single point of contact for industrial partners.

Services include (free of charge):

  • Assistance with commercial development and technology transfer projects (including contracts, mediation, negotiation, finance).
  • Facilitation of industry partnerships.
  • Creation of a company (start-up support, financing, incubators, contracts with your employer).
  • Support for administrative tasks.

 


Euraxess Fribourg

Euraxess Fribourg is a regional centre of Euraxess Switzerland and serves all international researchers wanting to move to the University of Fribourg.

Services include (free of charge):

  • Information about job and funding possibilities.
  • Assistance with social security and tax matters.
  • Information for dual career couples
  • Help with additional mobility-related issues.

 


Research Promotion Commission

The Research Promotion Commission is assigned to the Rectorate of the University of Fribourg and advises on research policy and promotion matters.
