Bachelor in Sport Sciences and Motor Control "Teaching" option

The Bachelor Option "Teaching" (BSc-Sport-U) (180 ECTS) offers a basic education in sport and movement science (120 ECTS) and enables the acquisition of a second teaching subject at secondary level I or II (60 ECTS). This bi-disciplinary programme prepares students to work as sports teachers at lower or upper secondary level. The BSc-Sport-U enables students to deepen their academic education in the same way as the Master in Sports Science Option Teaching.

Applicants for the BSc-Sport-U programme are required to take an entrance test (TPMS), which tests their physical and motor skills. Passing this test is a prerequisite for definitive admission to this degree programme.

  • Training objectives

By obtaining a BSc-Sport-U, students have the scientific foundations and general knowledge in their major subject and have a comprehensive overview of the field. They have acquired the competence to recognise technical interrelationships and have developed a critical thinking that allows them to deepen their studies or specialise in their field. They acquire expertise in a variety of codified or non-codified motor skills in different fields of activity.

With a minor subject as part of the BSc, students develop an approach to interdisciplinarity that makes it easier for them to communicate and collaborate with specialists from other disciplines.

Thanks to the bilingual training, students know the technical terms in both languages and are able to conduct a technical discussion in both German and French.

The BSc-Sport-U enables students to deepen their scientific education in the same way as the Master in Sports Science Option Teaching.
