Writing workshop for doctoral students

What if, when writing about our research, we started by telling the story? Inspired by oral storytelling traditions, this workshop explores the material tools of writing (space, time, media, etc.) and how the flow of speech and movement can enrich the writing process.

The goal of the workshop is to support each participant in developing a text related to their dissertation. The workshop is open to doctoral students from all disciplines. It has been designed specifically for those who have already begun writing their dissertation and wish to experiment with collaborative writing practices. Participants are encouraged to bring a writing project in a rough draft form (a draft, an outline, handwritten or voice notes, etc.).

Content and Methods:
- (Re)Discover how certain artisanal practices can inspire contemporary research writing.
- Develop self-reflection and a sense of ownership over one’s writing by observing one’s routines, rhythms, gestures, and writing materials.
- Explore the material, bodily, and relational dimensions of knowledge production through handwriting, the voice, and conversation.

The workshop will be conducted in French, but participants may also express themselves in English or German.

The number of participants is limited to 12.
