The Continuing Education Service

The Continuing Education Service is an academic service at the University of Fribourg that acts as a point of contact for all faculties on matters relating to continuing education. It organises courses in collaboration with faculty members and experts from the professional world, provides information and advice to interested parties, promotes the development of courses and coordinates all continuing education programmes offered by the University of Fribourg.

The Vice-Rector and Head of Continuing Education is currently Chantal Martin Sölch, Full Professor in the Department of Psychology.

Mission

University continuing education offers individuals the opportunity to update and supplement their initial training by participating in continuing education courses while working. In this sense, it contributes to improving participants' knowledge and skills, often offering them new career opportunities or enabling them to change direction.

The programme is geared towards the needs of professionals. It facilitates the exchange of knowledge and best practices between the scientific and professional worlds. This exchange is bidirectional. While university teaching and research form the foundation of continuing education, the contacts forged with businesses, government agencies and other institutions also enable the university to better target its teaching and research programmes.

In addition, the continuing education promotes the creation of often long-lasting exchange networks by bringing together individuals with common interests.
