How AI can be used in academic research ?
This workshop will explore the general principles of how AI operates. It will encourage students to consider how AI can be used in academic research and explore the limits and ethical issues it raises. The workshop will cover the different phases of academic research, from collecting information and materials, to the writing phase, to the post-research phase.
Objectifs

Integrate a basic knowledge of AI and how it responds to queries

Define and recognise the limits and risks of AI in academic work

Use AI efficiently by avoiding mistakes and taking advantage of the opportunities it offers

Use AI for research writing, considering the risks of plagiarism and data protection

Analysing the impact of AI on human agency and critical thinking

Adopt a proactive ethical approach
Public-cible
Etudiant·e·s
Students (BA, MA, Doctorant at Unifr or HES-SO) from all disciplines who wish to discover how AI can be used to enhance their academic research and skill.
Prérequis

Basic knowledge of what AI is, what kind of content it can generate and having already used an AI

Having a basic understanding of English (although participants can interact in French and German with the speaker)
