Summary: A proper understanding of tibia plateau fractures is mandatory to avoid classification shortcuts. Students will learn to assess patient-specific conditions that influence treatment options and outcome.
The knee is defined as a non-congruent joint and relies on proper ligament and meniscal structures to avoid further damage.
While anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) refixation can be successful in children, adult repairs have shown limited results.
During knee ligament reconstruction procedures, accurate graft placement remains a challenge. A specific MRI sequence was developed to gain in precision and restore anatomy. The results of mid and long-term cartilage care suggested that conservative surgery is the valuable choice for knee cartilage damage in the younger population, concomitant to lower limb alignment. These corrections need to be done precociously as vascular damage may occur.
