Students who wish to study English literature and linguistics are expected to have achieved a high level of English language competence in their Matura/Maturité/Maturita. We strongly recommend a level of C1 in English for students beginning their studies at the English department.

BENEFRI agreement with the University of Neuchâtel (UNINE)

The BeNeFri network allows you to attend courses at partner universities and enables you to follow a wider-range of courses and discover student life at another university. It covers travel expenses in order to help you to attend these courses. As of 2025, the English departments of Neuchatel and Fribourg have opened up a large portion of classes to each other. All information is available under Timetables and Guidelines.
