Guest lecture by Dr. Ewan Jones (Cambridge):

On Wednesday, September 30 from 15.00-17.00, Ewan Jones, Associate Professor in Nineteenth-Century Literature at the University of Cambridge, will deliver a guest lecture in the graduate seminar Seeking Attention taught by Michael Boyden. In view of the contested debates over the future of the humanities, in his talk entitled "Close Reading as Attentional Practice", Ewan Jones explores a sustained focus on attention as an enduring but still-untapped resource for close reading in particular, and literary criticism more generally. The lecture is open to all. For more information, please refer to the poster.
