The Saint Thomas Aquinas Institute for Theology and Culture (ISTAC) is an institute of the Faculty of Theology at the University of Fribourg. It was created to promote the renewal of Thomistic philosophy and theology in dialogue with contemporary culture. The Institute pursues this goal by means of research, conferences, artistic projects and publications.
The organs of the Institute are: a) the management board; b) the director; c) the assistant-director; d) the scientifical committee.
The scientifical committee, composed by the director, the vice-director and by six to ten members chosen because of their scientifical capacities and accomplishments, by the directory, supports the latter, by giving its expertise and its oppinion on questions linked to research and scientifical work.
