Conference | Cold altitudes: knowledge, imagination, and experiences of mountain ice
This conference explores how people have known, represented, and inhabited mountain ice, from glaciers and snowfields to avalanches, across the humanities and social sciences. Moving beyond polar-centred ice humanities, it foregrounds mountain ice as a cultural, political, ecological, spiritual, and scientific force shaping life at high altitude.
