The University of Fribourg- Dynamic, Friendly and International
Very international and proud of its humanist tradition, the University of Fribourg is the image of Switzerland today: modern and multicultural. Its five faculties offer a high level of quality in a privileged environment.
The many different nationalities of the professors as well as the students make the University a veritable international forum: almost 20% of the students come from foreign countries. In the halls languages ranging from English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and even Polish can be heard, however the two official languages are French and German. Fribourg is the bilingual University of Switzerland through its commitment to excellence. In business and administration, French and German are used interchangeably, and studies can be completed in either language or both. Courses in English are offered as well. As a result, intercultural exchanges are promoted within and without the classroom.
The impressive growth in the number of students in the past decade reflects the dynamic nature of the University of Fribourg. In the past 15 years, its costs have more than doubled. Despite its development, the University has kept its traditional welcoming atmosphere. The University gives the town of Fribourg a charm incomparable with any other.
