How to find the Department of Biology

The Department of Biology is spread over four buildings (Per01, Per04, Per05 and Per09) at the Pérolles campus (see the detailed campus map below).

Leave the train station through the main entrance, cross the road and walk up the Boulevard de Pérolles (about 10 minutes). The Pérolles campus is at the end of the street. Buses leave the station at regular intervals from the island in front of the train station. Take the bus No. 3  direction "Pérolles" to the terminus or bus No. 1 direction "Marly" and stop at "Charmettes". Trains from all major Swiss cities arrive approximately every hour. Parking for vehicles is very limited (space & time). The best access is from Per05.

Getting there by car: Leave the motorway at Fribourg sud. Coming from the motorway, follow the arrows on the map on the right; cross three roundabouts and take a sharp turn left (also at a roundabout) and continue until the traffic light. Turn right and go straight ahead until you come to another roundabout. There, turn to the right (following the signs in the middle of the roundabout: "Université, Naturwissenschaften" and "Musée d'histoire naturelle"). Use the public fee-paying car park in front of the Natural History Museum.

2016: due to construction work surrounding buildings Per05 and Per07, the public car park is no longer available. A few parking spaces can be found in the street (Chemin du Musée) in front of Per07 or on the main roads such as Boulevard de Pérolles, and Route des Arsenaux.
