CAS Clinical Anatomy

STRUCTURE: The CAS Clinical Anatomy comprises 12 ECTS credits, divided as follows:

1) Practical anatomy course including anatomical dissection, consisting of two modules of 5 ECTS each. Module 1: Locomotor system; Module 2: Internal organs, head & CNS.

2) Final thesis (2 ECTS credits).

TIME COMMITMENT: The entire program is designed for 360 hours of work (30 hours per ECTS credit). At least 150 hours are spent in classroom instruction. Another 150 hours are allocated for personal preparation and self-study. The remaining 60 hours are reserved for the final thesis.

COURSE DURATION & LOCATION: The program lasts approximately 12 months and can be completed part-time while working. The start date is determined individually. The attendance times and topics will be arranged with the course instructor and will take place at the Anatomy Unit of the University of Fribourg (address: Route Albert-Gockel 1, PER 03, CH-1700 Fribourg).

COST: CHF 8'000,- (monthly installments possible)

Ziele

The CAS Clinical Anatomy is a course for healthcare professionals who would like to advance their anatomical knowledge. It is a hands-on course entailing anatomical cadaver dissection and the study of anatomical specimens and models. The final step consists of a scientific thesis on an anatomical topic with clinical relevance.

Officially graduated medical / healthcare professionals (e.g. physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, osteopaths,...) with at least three years of work experience.
