Clinically Driven Surgical Research: From Emergency Semiology to Translational and Regenerative Approaches

Ouvert au grand public Conférence Cours public
27.01.2026 08:15 - 09:00
Présentiel

Public lecture as part of a search committee for a professor in General Surgery.

Summary: This presentation will include two complementary components. The first part will consist of a short teaching session designed for third-year Bachelor students in medicine and will address the clinical semiology of abdominal pain in the emergency setting. It will emphasize a structured diagnostic approach based on clinical reasoning, physical examination, and identification of key warning signs relevant to acute decision-making.
The second part will present my research program driven by clinically relevant surgical questions and structured along an integrated translational continuum. It combines prospective clinical research, innovative surgical imaging, digitally augmented surgery, and collaborative regenerative research focused on postoperative healing. Perspectives for further development within the academic and clinical ecosystem of the University of Fribourg and HFR will be discussed
