Research

Along with teaching, research is one of the major tasks of the Department of special education. Empirically validated research results  constantly improve the foundations of special education and render their application in practice more transparent. Recent research outcomes are continuously inserted into existing theoretical views. This proceeding helps to modify effectively the speculations and preconceptions concerning handicapped or deprived individuals.

Some of the research projects at the Department and the Institute of special education are funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (projects snf), but most of the projects are carried out within the different sections of the Institute (projects Dpt. and Inst.) . In the database FUTURA (administration.unifr.ch/futura) you can find all the information on research projects, researchers, research groups, conferences and publications at Fribourg University.
