Every year the Clarivate Institute publishes its list of highly-cited researchers. The Unifr researchers Patrice Nordmann, Laurent Poirel and Sven Bacher feature on this list for the University of Fribourg. The three have been regulars on this list for several years running.

Professor Nordmann and Dr. Poirel, from the Section of Medicine, work together on antibiotic-resistant bacteria, while Professor Bacher is a specialist on invasive species in the Department of Biology. The Clarivate selection is based on the citations gathered by the researchers' publications.
