The National Research Programme 77 on Digital Transformation has just started with 37 projects selected, financed by the Confederation to the tune of CHF 30 million. Several researchers from the University of Fribourg are participating: Prof. Eric Sanchez in educational sciences, Prof. Regula Hänggli in communication science, Prof. Edy Portmann in computer science and Prof. Petra Klumb in psychology. NRP 77 addresses various aspects of the digital transformation, its impact on education, its ethical implications and its effect on the economy.
Prof. Hänggli's project, for example, considers participatory platforms and their effect on trust in politics. Prof. Portmann studies the possibilities of the "smart cities" of the future.
