On November 8, 2019 the Chair for International Management and the Chair of Management jointly held their third conference on “Success in Emerging Markets”.

Emerging markets have become increasingly important for Swiss companies – both as potential new markets and as production locations. However, they are not easy to enter, and successful management in emerging markets poses serious challenges.

This conference included speeches from top managers with a long history of experience in emerging markets, a panel discussion, and time for networking. It was organised to give executives in Swiss SMEs and MNCs valuable insights about how to enter these countries and how to successfully do business there.

With the support of Sika AG, the University of Fribourg created the "Sika-endowed Research Group Emerging Markets" that hosted this conference.
