On the 1st of May, the International Center, part of the Institute of Federalism, had the great honour to host the President of the Republic of Botswana. The delegation was welcomed by our Co-Director Prof. Eva Maria Belser, the President of the Fribourg Cantonal Government, Dr. Didier Castella, the Mayor of Fribourg, Mr. Thierry Steiert and the University’s Rector, Prof. Astrid Epiney.

After the welcoming addresses, President Masisi, Prof. Belser and Ambassador Simon Geissbühler from FDFA took part in an illuminating exchange on democracy and citizens participation in the digital era. The floor then opened up for questions from the audience, which contributed to enriching the discussion.
