Improving Swiss Pandemic Governance

The research project of the Institute of Federalism is one of 25 sub-projects selected for the National Research Programme "Covid-19 in Society" (NRP 80). It aims to investigate the legal framework for dealing with pandemics and to show how Swiss crisis governance can be improved in the future.

The research project is a joint project of all three directors of the Institute. On 1 March 2023, the three doctoral students, Johanna Jean-Petit-Matile, Luis Maiorini and Stefanie Rusch, and the coordinator, Thea Bächler, started their work on the project, which will run until 2026.

The project is supported by a scientific advisory board with renowned experts from science, politics, administration, justice and civil society. The collaboration with the advisory board has already reached a first important milestone: The board met on 20 and 30 March to critically reflect on the research project and to make recommendations on how to proceed. We thank the members of the advisory board for their valuable inputs and cooperation.
