LoGov mid-term conference

With great enthusiasm, the International Research and Consulting Center (IRCC) has participated to the LoGov – Local Government and the Changing Urban-Rural Interplay mid-term conference on the 13th and 14th of October 2022, in Munich. LoGov is concerned with the impact fundamental demographic changes, in an increasingly urbanized world. The latter has indeed brought social as well as political challenges. The project runs from 2019 to 2024, and it aims at providing solutions for local governments to address such urban-rural interplay. The IRCC joined forces with partner institutions from six continents to deliver influential comparative research.

The 2022 mid-term conference brought partners together to discuss local responsibilities, decision-making participation and public services, local financial arrangements, structure and intergovernmental relations of local governments. It also hosted a round table discussion on the current challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic in urban and rural municipalities.

The meeting was successfully concluded with the renewed commitment to reaching the LoGov final objectives before 2024.
