The University of Fribourg’s Europe Day constitutes a key forum for exchange between academia, politics and society on European themes and marks its 50th anniversary this year. In this anniversary edition, the geopolitical role of the European Union will take centre stage at the main event. Against the backdrop of global power shifts and increasing demands in the fields of security and integration, the EU’s strategic capacity to act and its international positioning are gaining prominence. In light of these developments, the event will address current and future challenges the EU faces, particularly with regard to the geopolitical implications of future enlargement.
