Timur Ashirov has received Bridge PoC grant for developing gas separation membranes!

Timur Ashirov from the Coskun Research Group, Department of Chemistry has recently received Bridge PoC grant for developing gas separation membranes.

The aim of the project is to develop ultrahigh permeance membranes for 100 times cheaper and 10000 times faster separation of Helium/Hydrogen compared to the traditional approach. They will design Membrane separation units (MSU) consisting of many membranes in rows that can be easily integrated into existing infrastructures. Finally, their MSU can be repurposed for practically any gas mixture by changing the affinity layer. Their eventual goal is to develop mobile carbon capture systems directly from the air and install it in Swiss cities and companies.
