Goethe language examination

The Language Centre of the University of Fribourg is the examination centre for the international language certificates of the Goethe-Institute. If you are interested in taking a Goethe language examination with us, you can obtain a Goethe Certificate at levels B1, B2 and C1. For B1 and B2 levels we also offer the examination for young people.

• Examination fees

  Goethe-Certificate B1	All modules CHF 300.- 1 module CHF 110.- 2 modules CHF 210.- 3 modules CHF 310.-
  Goethe-Certificate B2	All modules CHF 360.- 1 module CHF 120.- 2 modules CHF 230.- 3 modules CHF 340.-
  Goethe-Certificate C1	All modules CHF 380.- 1 module CHF 130.- 2 modules CHF 240.- 3 modules CHF 350.-

• Partial retake C1

  You have the option of a partial retake for C1. This means that if you only passed one of the two parts of the examination, you can retake part of the examination separately: SPEAKING (oral examination) or READING, LISTENING, WRITING (written examination). Please note that any partial retake of the examination must be taken within one year at the same examination centre. At our centre this is still possible until the examination on 27 July 2024.

• Participants with special needs

  As we have a limited number of rooms and staff for our examinations, candidates with special needs can only be accepted for the sessions in March, April and May. If you have any questions, please contact the secretariat.
