Target audience

Students and employees of the University of Fribourg and its partner institutions who want to practise speaking skills (no homework, no ECTS).

Content

Requirements/starting point: You can talk about familiar and routine situations and topics related to yourself, your immediate environment, and your personal interests.

Contents: In this course you will discuss in alternating small groups about topics of everyday life that you co-determine with the other participants (e.g. family, leisure, education and work, hopes/dreams/plans, etc.).

Evaluation: There is no evaluation in this course. No preparation or follow-up is expected. Regular attendance is encouraged.

Please note that this course is a face-to-face course.

The placement test ist not necessary for enrolment in the conversation courses. Please use the self-assessment grids to estimate your current language level, especially the SPEAKING skills. You may then choose the appropriate course.

Teaching material: Worksheets and documents are provided (no need to purchase textbooks). In the Moodle room, after each lesson, you will find supplementary links to the topics covered as well as appropriate grammar or vocabulary exercises. The exercises in the Moodle room are optional.
