Strappi: the restoration of Carlo Innocenzo Carloni's frescoes

Between October 2021 and May 2022, Palazzo Grassi completed the project ‘Strappi’, the restoration open to the public of two large frescoes painted by Carlo Innocenzo Carloni (1687-1775) between 1740 and 1745 for the Villa Colleoni Capigliata of Calusco d’Adda, today part of the heritage of Palazzo Grassi.

The restoration, particularly complex and characterised by the use of innovative procedures, will be illustrated during a public talk, which also includes a report by art historian Stefano Colombo, who conducted, on commission from Palazzo Grassi, a research dedicated to the events of this group of frescoes that tell Colleoni’s life stories.

The documentary dedicated to the "Strappi" project (18'), by Maco Film, will be screened after the conference.
