Bruno Jeitziner is chief economist at the Swiss Federal Tax Administration in Berne and economics professor at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. He served as an economic advisor at the Swiss Federal Finance Administration and was a research fellow at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA / USA. He holds a doctoral degree and a venia legendi in economics from the University of Fribourg. Research interests include tax policy, public choice, internet and democracy. Publications in English include "Political Economy of the Swiss National Bank", "Measuring Political Preferences: Ratings for Members of the Swiss National Council", and "E-Democracy Beyond E-Voting". He is issuing ratings for Swiss politicians on an annual basis and he is co-founder of the online voting assistance tool smartvote.
