Beginning of Studies
The University offers several introduction events for new students. It is really worthwhile participating since it is an easy way to get to know your surroundings and make contact with fellow students.
Starting Days
All students starting their studies in Fribourg are invited to the Starting Days events. These consist of three days of reflection and information concerning new students in all faculties allowing them to meet the persons responsible, and their collaborators, from the various help services for students. The Starting Days take place outside the University and only before the beginning of the autumn semester. The special setting makes it possible to start making new friendships even before studies have started.

Freshman Day
Freshman Day offers an introduction to studies and the opportunity to gain an overview of the many information stands, faculties, student bodies, student associations and other organizations. Freshmen will receive an invitation with all the details at the beginning of September.
Mathematics Week
In order to facilitate the change over in student life, the Department of Mathematics invites all future students of mathematics, computer sciences, and science to a Mathematics Week. This event offers not only the possibility to learn or revisit the basic concepts of mathematics, but also to make first contacts with other students and teachers.
