eAccount / Web-Mail

The access codes for the personal eAccount (username and Password) will be sent with the first invoice for the semester registration fees. For most students, this electronic user account is indispensable for registering for courses before the beginning of semester. All official university correspondence will be sent exclusively to the unifr-mail-address. Before using the eAccount for the first time it must be activated and this will only be possible about one week after payment of the semester registration fees.
Questions concerning the eAccount should be addressed to micromus.

Informatics rooms

Many computer workplaces are available for students in public informatics rooms and libraries. An overview of the public informatics rooms and information on their opening hours and use can be found on the web pages of the Informatics Service.

Internet Access / WLAN

The University of Fribourg offers students several possibilities to access the data network. Most of the University buildings are equipped with a wireless (WLAN) system. This permits use of the internet by means of the personal user account and computers equipped with a wireless card (Laptop etc.). More detailed information concerning access to the internet and use of the WLAN facilities (configuration, user rights and WLAN coverage) can be obtained from the Informatics Service.

Support

Micromus is your first point of call for general inquiries regarding your eAccount, accessing computers or the University’s data network.

Computers at Student Prices

Several well known computer manufacturers offer, upon authentication, reduced prices for computers and peripheral material to students and university personnel. These are generally available from corresponding authorized outlets, some of which are given below.
