The defence is a public act by which each candidate for a doctorate outlines, discusses and defends before a jury the scientific work and results of his thesis.
The defence committee (jury) is appointed by the Faculty, and awards it a distinction.
The thesis should be published and filed to the “Bibliothèque Cantonale et Universitaire”.
