Funding by the Jean Nordmann Foundation for an Academic Visit to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2012-2013

Since 2011, an agreement on academic cooperation between the University of Fribourg and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem provides funding for reciprocal academic visits.
The purpose of the visit is to develop and strengthen academic ties between researchers in the two universities across all disciplines and faculties.

Faculty members, post-doctoral and doctoral students from the University of Fribourg are invited to apply now in order to visit the Hebrew University of Jerusalem during the academic year 2012-2013. The visit can be for any period between 2 weeks and one semester. The maximum sum that can be awarded upon application for a whole semester amounts to 20'000 USD.

Applicants should submit the following documents (in English) by e-mail, international@unifr.ch,
to Madame Marielle de Dardel,  (Responsable du service des relations internationales, Université de Fribourg, Av. de l'Europe 20, 1700 Fribourg) by 31st May, 2012:

       *       Letter of motivation;
       *       CV and list of publications;
       *       Research project demonstrating the importance of the visit to the Hebrew University (both for the research itself and for the development of institutional ties between the two universities);
       *       Letter of invitation from a host researcher at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (a host researcher can be found by consulting the website of the Hebrew University);
       *       Proposed date of travel and length of stay;
       *       Evidence of English and/or Hebrew proficiency; and
       *       Detailed budget of stay (travel, accommodation and living costs).
       *       For doctoral students only: letter of recommendation from their doctoral supervisor at the University of Fribourg (stating the quality of the research and the academic and institutional importance of the doctoral student's visit to Jerusalem).


Applicants will be informed about the status of their application before the end of July 2012. Successful applicants will be asked to write a scientific and financial report (20 pages altogether) within a month after the end of their stay in Jerusalem.
