Affect Co-regulation in the Family
Our research unit is based on an AMBIZIONE grant by the Swiss National Science Foundation. The main goal of our research is to investigate how close partners co-regulate their affective experiences as they occur in daily life, and how they are affected by these processes immediately and on the long run. Further research interests are the investigation of different contextual and individual factors that modulate such processes, such as culture, social network and stress.
The aim of our research is to add to a better understanding of the factors and processes that contribute to well-functioning family and couple life, one of the most important requirements for well-being, physical and psychological health and resilience. In this sense, we adopt a clinical psychological perspective in our work, however drawing from various related disciplines and theoretical strands.
