Nicholas of Myra

The Centre for the Study of the Eastern Churches has chosen as patron Saint Nicholas of Myra, the most venerated saint in both East and West. With his testimony to the philanthropy of God, he also testifies to the source of theological work.

The St. Nicholas Map of the College of St. Michel in Fribourg 2017 (by Bérénice Depeursinge) can be interpreted with a "theology in three movements":

  1. We all need to be saved.
  2. If you want to be saved - help to save others.
  3. Even if you are a donkey, you can do something to save others - provided you are a donkey with a heart!
