Was wir machen
Die Arbeit am Lehrstuhl für Neue Politische Ökonomie wird getragen von der Überzeugung, dass eine Praxisorientierung ohne theoretische Basis wenig hilfreich ist und ein Theoretisieren ohne praktischen Bezug Gefahr läuft, sich im l'art pour l'art zu verlieren. Entsprechend bemühen sich Forschung und Lehre, einerseits das Rüstzeug der Theorie zu vermitteln und anzuwenden und andererseits die praktisch-politischen Probleme des Augenblicks zu thematisieren. Ainsi les derniers cours Master ont eu comme sujets: The Economics of Envy, The Economics of Crime and Criminal Policy, The Economic Institutions of Islam, Tragic Choices - Allocation and Distribution Aspects of Organ Transplantation.
On notera que les cours Master se font régulièrement à Morlon dans un cadre invitant à la discussion à la fois engagée et sereine; il est de tradition dans ce cours que les participants peuvent intervenir soit en français, en allemande ou en anglais. The books and articles published by the Chair appeal to the members of the scientific community as well as to the citizens of the commonwealth.
