Welcome...
We perform research on the neural mechanisms of cognition and learning in the visual system. We combine sophisticated behavioral training with a number of state-of-the-art experimental techniques, including multi electrode recordings of spikes and local field potentials, deep-brain stimulation, in vivo neurochemical monitoring and pharmacological manipulations. Our research focuses on the role of Cholinergic neuromodulation on attention, learning and memory. The Analytical Neurochemistry Group is part of the laboratory and is developing techniques for in vivo monitoring and of neurotransmitters, neuromodulators and peptides using Mass Spectrometry. Further information is also available on the Futura database. We are part of the Fribourg Center for Cognition, which coordinates Neuroscience and Cognitive Sciences between the Medical and Psychology Departments.
