The working group of macrovertebrates is surching on various problematic centred on the palaeoenvironment evolution and the biostratigraphy in Western Europe apply on various groups of vertebrates from sharks to mammals (Ruminantia, Cainotheriidae, Carnivora, Creodonta, etc.).

Different methods, such as morphometry, comparative anatomy, dental micro- and mesowears, geometric morphometrics and tooth enamel microstructure are used to characterize palaeocology and phylogeny of these animals.
