Mineralogy and petrography, archaeometry
My main research interests are in archaeometry; in particular, on questions concerning ancient ceramics, with focus on the periods from the Iron Age to the Early Medieval Period, such as f.ex. Roman Wine Amphorae.
Studies: mineralogy & petrography - Univ. of Fribourg (diploma 1985, Ph.D. 1990).
Post-doc research: Lab. de céra-mologie, CNRS, Lyon; Depart. of Geosciences, Univ. of Fribourg ; collaboration on international research projects.
Teaching: Univer. of Fribourg (archaeometry since 2002, crystal optics & micros-copy 2003/2004).
I also work on analytical projects on ceramic finds at the Office de la Culture du Canton du Jura/section archéologique.
