Our research focuses on the reconstruction of Tertiary paleo-environnements and -geography of the Rhinegraben-Bresse graben-Molasse
basin connection. Along a transect from North Italy to the South Rhine graben, we study palynology and paleobotany to reconstruct Oligocene paleo-climatic changes across the Alps. In addition we study the origin and evolution of freshwater eco-systems, and the comparison of freshwater flora and fauna between the Tertiary and the Recent. We also collaborate in the protection and valo-risation of the geological heritage (Geotopes).
