2009 – 2013 University of Bern: Ph.D. of Science in Geography, i.s.c.l., specialisation in Gender Studies. PhD thesis: «Negotiating political space: women’s political participation in Tajikistan» completed in the framework of the Graduate School in Gender Studies

2007 – 2008 European College of Liberal Arts, Berlin, Germany: Project Year. Project on the  representation of Russian women in the Soviet cinema during the 1960s and 70s.

2006 – 2007 Central European University, Budapest, Hungary: M.A. in Gender Studies MA thesis: Tajik women’s experiences with arranged marriages.
