Summer University
The three-week Summer University on "Federalism, Decentralisation and Conflict Resolution" provides advanced students of law, political sciences, economics, journalism or related disciplines and young professionals with a unique opportunity to learn and experience the current state of scholarship and practice in the area of federalism, decentralisation and conflict resolution.
The 25rd Summer University will be organised from 19 August until 06 September 2013. Applications are accepted until 7 April 2013.
Internship programme for professionals in federalism
The Internship Programme gives persons who have successfully completed the Summer University or the Practitioner's Course of the Institute of Federalism the chance to experience multicultural Swiss federalism first-hand by gaining an insight in the world of cantonal authorities for six weeks.
The programme will take place from 09 September to 18 Oktober 2013. Applications are accepted until 15 March 2013.
Practitioner's Course on decentralisation and local governance
The two-week Practitioners Course on Decentralisation and Local Governance has been specifically created for policy makers, local and regional government officials, elected representatives, sector specialists supporting local governments (development agencies) and civil society actors working in the field of decentralisation and local governance.
The Practitioners Course 2012 will take place from 11 to 22 March 2013 in Murten. The application window is now closed.
Study tours
On request, the Institute of Federalism offers study tours on topics related to Swiss federalism and beyond.
