WELCOME TO THE HOMEPAGE OF THE

RESEARCH UNIT MORAL THEOLOGY AND ETHICS

A warm welcome to the webpage of the research unit ‘Moral Theology and Theological Ethics’ at the University of Fribourg! It is the task of the research unit to develop ethical and theological responses to modern society’s most pressing questions against the background of the Christian faith. Moral theology today means thinking anew about how personal religious beliefs and the theological tradition can assist individuals and societies in their quest for ethical orientation. Christian faith is not, of course, simply identical with morality. But whoever confesses the Christian faith will feel beholden to an ethically responsible life. The main challenge of moral theology consists in interpreting and developing a new understanding of this context in relation to contemporary thought. Please browse our website and feel free to contact us!

Yours sincerely,

Daniel Bogner
