Current research

My professional interest lies in the application of ecological knowledge in sustainable agriculture and ecosystem management, where I am particularly interested in crop physiology and crop production, water and fertilization use management and weed management. I am currently focusing on the study of the effects of increased nutrient conditions of Ambrosia artemisiifolia on the performance of Ophraella communapopulations and its hybrids, under the supervision of Dr. Yan Sun and Professor Heinz Müller-Schärer.

In my PhD thesis titled “Interaction Effect of Tillage, Irrigation, and Nitrogen Management on Morphophysiological Traits and Yield of Sweet Corn” I am using 2-years field data for investigation the effects of irrigation regimes and different kinds and levels of nitrogen fertilizers in combination with two different tillage systems on yield and yield components, morphological and physiological traits of Sweet Corn (such as properties related to the quality), weed seed bank and some soil properties in Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran.

During my master, I worked on  2-year field experiments titled “Growth, yield, and yield components of Wheat as influenced by different levels of nitrogen and Corn, Rapeseed, Sunflower, and Wheat residues”.

These working experiences raised my interest in sustainable agriculture and water, fertilizer and weed management.
