Summer courses
Numerous possibilities of studying abroad are proposed during the academic year or between semesters. Some of the study placements can be integrated into your study programme as recognized equivalent courses; others give you the possibility of obtaining a diploma. On this page, we present especially several programmes in which our Faculty is involved as a partner. This involvement gives, in some cases, the possibility of obtaining preferential conditions for students from the Faculty of Law at Fribourg.
Summer School “European Private Law” Salzburg
organized by the University of Salzburg
This summer school takes place each year in Salzburg during two weeks at the end June or the beginning of July. It treats European private law and English is the main language. Some courses may also be given in German or French. During the workshops in German, French, Italian and Spanish can also be used. The teachers come from partner faculties from all over Europe.

Recognition of study achievements
The study achievements of students from Fribourg within the framework of the Summer School “European Private Law” Salzburg, are validated as « Special Credits ».
Prato Law Program
organized by the Monash University Law School (Australia); the Faculty of Law at Fribourg is a partner in this programme.
This programme takes place each year in Prato, Italy (Tuscany), from the end of March to the end of July. It is constituted of course units amongst which students have a choice. The courses are taught in English. Students from partner universities pay a fixed administration fee, regardless of the number of courses followed.

Recognition of study achievements
Students registered at the University of Fribourg should consult the information given by the Commission of equivalent academic qualifications and published in a document entitled « Recognition of examination results and work carried out in a foreign country and a summary of the principles established by the Commission of equivalent academic qualifications» available at the link « Recognition » in this section. The recognition of study achievements at the host university is subject to the approval of the Commission of equivalent academic qualifications, upon written request, after return from the study placement.
Summer Law Institute in Suzhou, China
organized par the Bucerius Law School (Hamburg) ; the Faculty of Law at Fribourg is a partner in this programme.
This programme takes place each year in Suzhou, China, from mid-July to the beginning of August. The teaching treats « International Business Transactions with Chinese Characteristics » and is given in English.
