Alumni
The Association of the friends of the University of Fribourg (L'Association des Amis de l'Université de Fribourg/ Hochschulverein der Universität Freiburg) was founded in 1891 by the first students and sympathizers of the University in order to encourage its work, influence and development. Membership of the Association is open to all former graduates of the University who thus have a privileged access for keeping in touch with their Alma mater and former university friends.
For its members and Alumni of the University, the Association organises regional reunions, some of which are already well established in certain cantons or well on their way to becoming established in others.
The Association members also receive, four times per year, the magazine Universitas Friburgensis which keeps them up-to-date with University news.
The annual General Assembly is one of the highlights of the Association’s calendar. It normally takes place in autumn and is linked to various events thus offering the possibility to come to Fribourg, rediscover former study haunts and renew contact with the scientific world.
The Membership list makes it easy to find former student friends, discover what has become of them and enlarge one’s personal circle. This privilege is, of course, reserved for members of the Association.
